Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i S'Agaró, with its easily accessible location, an environment that invites visitors to enjoy the sea and nature and a wide range of leisure and entertainment activities and restaurants, is an ideal destination for families.
In 2014, with the aim of promoting this kind of tourism, Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i S'Agaró joined the family tourism programme of the Catalan Tourist Agency. This distinction certifies that Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i S'Agaró has facilities, services and different activities suited to families, as well as certified accommodation, restaurants and leisure establishments.
In 2024, with the aim of going one step further, its recognition as an Hola Familia destination was obtained from the Catalan Tourism Agency.
What is an HOLA familia destination?
An HOLA familia destination is a benchmark location for family holidays in Catalonia for both visitors and international tourists, offering a tourist experience suited to the needs of different kinds of families and, above all, those of children and teenagers.
To obtain this recognition, it's necessary to submit a candidacy dossier outlining the destination's tourism strategy, the offer specialising in families and aspects related to tourism innovation and sustainability. The Family Tourism programme committee evaluates the candidacy and, if its decision is favourable, the Catalan Tourism Agency awards the HOLA familia recognition.
