Duván · "The Voice of Stone"

Large-Scale Sculpture Exhibition

Although the sculptures stand as almost monolithic and hieratic presences, they are by no means silent. Rather, they engage with us and call for a response. Moreover, they do so through forms that often feel familiar to us. This may come as a surprise, but it is worth remembering that Duván is also an heir to the Western visual culture that surrounds us, and the artist uses it to engage with us in different ways.

Drawing and Painting Exhibition

Painter, sculptor and poet, his work has been shaped by a profound relationship with the tropical nature of his native country. For decades, his canvases have explored the experience of the rainforest as a living architecture: layers of green, organic rhythms and dense vegetation. In his work, nature does not appear as a decorative landscape, but as a primordial force.

Over time, this exploration has found new forms of expression. The artist settled in Catalonia years ago, establishing his studio in Besalú, a medieval setting where stone, history and landscape are in constant dialogue. This environment has had a profound influence on his recent artistic development.

López's painting has become a privileged field of observation. His series devoted to jungles and forests reveal how certain organic patterns-density, repetition and fractality-create a simultaneous sense of expansion and refuge in the viewer. In his canvases, nature emerges as a space for perceptual reorganization.

Guinovart

From Plate to Paper

This exhibition offers a journey through the graphic work of Josep Guinovart, tracing his artistic evolution and showcasing the variety of printmaking techniques he employed, including engraving, lithography and screen printing. The works reflect the landscapes, colours and memories that shaped his career, as well as his close connection to poetry, popular culture and the land. The exhibition highlights graphic art as an essential part of his creative legacy and invites visitors to discover the visual and poetic universe of one of the leading figures of contemporary Catalan art.

 Alamà i la Barcelona Academy of Art

Venue: Benedormiens Castle · Castell d’Aro

This exhibition presents a dialogue between the work of Jordi Díz Alamà and the educational project of the Barcelona Academy of Art, the academy he founded more than a decade ago. The exhibition brings together works by the artist alongside a selection of pieces by faculty members and students, highlighting the institution's quality, diversity, and international reputation.

As part of the Castell d'Aro Art Exhibition Cycle, the exhibition creates a connection between the historic heritage of Benedormiens Castle and contemporary art.

Jordi Díz Alamà (Granollers, 1986), who studied at the University of Barcelona and the Florence Academy of Art, is one of the leading figures of contemporary Catalan realism. His career is defined by a constant pursuit of artistic excellence, where technical mastery serves creative freedom.
