We welcome Christmas with one of the year's most anticipated events: the Christmas Lights Switch-On, which transforms the public space into a stage of magic, colour and wonder.

Performance by the lyric group La Quinta Voce (6 pm) with several members of the Gran Teatre del Liceu Choir, who will perform a selection of pieces in various styles - opera, Catalan traditional music or American standards - accompanied by piano and violin.

At half-time (7 p.m.), the versatile comedian, actor and impressionist, Pep Plaza, will be hosting a special show to activate the mechanism that will switch on all the town's lighting.

Throughout the afternoon, you can make a charitable donation and get the advent calendar in aid of Sant Joan de Déu Hospital.

Among the 25,000 m² of low-energy lighting that adorns streets, squares and avenues, the Tunnel of Light on Miramar Street in Platja d'Aro stands out. Every day until 7 January, it will offer a show combining light and colour, featuring three typical pieces from the period:

It will also be the moment to see this year's "Avet d'Avets" (Fir Tree of Firs) lighting, installed for the third time at the Town Hall roundabout in Platja d'Aro: a 10-metre-high Christmas tree made of natural firs mounted on a metal structure, which appears as a single unit from the outside.
